Pongsatorn Sukhum

Pongsatorn Sukhum is an underwater photographer with a passion for shipwrecks. He has been diving since the late Seventies and spends most of his free time researching and hunting for shipwrecks and sunken aircraft in his native Thailand. He has amassed a large collection of books, documents, and maps - all related to vessels that may be sunk in the area.
A large number of ships, aircraft, and few submarines have been discovered in the Gulf of Thailand during the past several years and all have suffered from looting by unscrupolous divers. Working together with members of the Royal Thai Navy, UNESCO, and the Thai Underwater Archaeology Division, many articles and books have been published, and exhibitions held to educate the general public and particularly the underwater community to preserve our underwater cultural heritage through preservation of wrecks.
He has recently created a photo essay titled "Bringing Wrecks to Life" that aims to induce interest in shipwreck preservation in Thailand, through the use of images and first-hand accounts of life aboard these World War II ships.
