FOUNDERS
Founded October 2003Founded in 2003 by marine life artist Wyland, renowned nature photographer Bob Talbot, and legendary sport-fishing artist Dr. Guy Harvey, the society recognizes individuals for their contributions to the ocean arts and their commitment to raising global awareness of our ocean issues. The society was conceived in an effort to organize a dedicated group of ocean artists that could, together, be a voice and platform to further the reach of artists so that they may inspire people around the globe to a greater awareness of our need to protect and preserve our natural world. "Each of us had already dedicated much of our time toward ocean conservation," marine life artist Wyland says. "This is intended as a way to give us a larger voice to reach new audiences about the marine art experience."
